Role Summary/Purpose: The Lead Systems Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. Essential Responsibilities: - Responsible for defining and supporting the Tier-0 Aircraft level activities necessary to define, develop, verify and certify a Part 25 aircraft platform.
- Definition of aircraft requirements, interface definitions and providing guidance to system and sub-system suppliers.
- Provide technical guidance and support for the certification process for aircraft systems.
- Involvement will be through the entire lifecycle of a development program.
Coordinate technical aspects and lead requisitions
Work closely with Marketing Proposal Leaders to ensure customer cuts are evaluated and flowed down appropriately through System Functional Specifications and Interface Control Documents
Ensure that the product at the system level is validated
Participate in the proposal process to insure that only sound technical solutions are offered to customers
Work closely with the commercial and technology teams to create system configurations differentiated in the market
Configure products for placement on the competitive landscape and define of product specifications including performance, cost, and schedule
Implement the timely execution of product conceptual designs to meet evolving market needs
Coordinate design, project and system engineers during detailed design, start-up and warranty administration phases of project
Leverage cross-functional and cross business resources in order to maximize technical results
Supervise activities such as field issues and failures Investigations, root causes analysis and implementation of corrective actions, lesson learned issues and consequently design standards update
Build solid relationships with key Customers and suppliers
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of engineering or other technical experience)
At least 3 additional years of experience in a systems engineering role
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness and ability to travel 33% of the time

Desired Characteristics: - 10 years of technical and/or engineering development experience with aircraft development programs and have experience defining and managing requirements for aircraft systems.
- Experience in developing and managing requirements at the Tier-0 (Aircraft) level working for a major commercial airframe company.
Aircraft Systems engineering experience with a FAR Part 25 aircraft is highly desirable.
- Experience in aircraft-level requirements definition, design, integration, verification and certification activities.
- Experience in defining aircraft operational requirements, system architectures and requirements for systems for commercial aircraft.
- Familiar with systems engineering processes including requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements management, system integration, verification and certification.
- Capable of using modeling and simulation tools to model and validate complex system solutions
Bachelors degree in Engineering
