Position Summary: The Corporate Publications Manager maintains the company manual systems and subscriptions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Subject Matter Expert (SME) to revise, edit, format and proofread existing publications.
- Develop new publications from source material and SME input using PC based desktop publishing software.
- Apply formatting standards and specifications.
- Prepare and format print-ready electronic files.
- Electronic file management and archiving.
- Coordinate multiple, overlapping revision and development processes with SMEs, internal clients, and outside venders.
- Manage and track the distribution of company manuals and subscriptions.
- Develop weekly status reports on given projects.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical communication or related field.
- Experience using desktop publishing software (especially FrameMaker) for the development and revision of technical publications.
- Expertise with standard MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint).
- Experience working with Adobe Acrobat and manipulating PDF files.
- Experience manipulating graphics using simple graphic tools.
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with and resolve problems with subject matter experts.
- Must be detail oriented and possess skills for extracting hard-to-find information from source materials.
- Must be self-motivated, proactive, willing to learn, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Aviation Experience Preferred
