CLEANER / MAINTAINER’S HELPER

STARTING SALARY: $13.61 per hour for a 40-hour work week, with increments to $22.8125 per hour after three years plus night and weekend differentials.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Clean, sweep and wash buses, depots, garages, shops and other MaBSTOA or MTA Bus Company facilities; and perform related work. Maintainer’s Helpers assist in the maintenance, installation, inspection, testing, alteration and repair of bus and other electromechanical equipment

REQUIREMENTS: Two years of experience performing or assisting in the inspection, installation, alteration, maintenance, testing or repair of bus, truck, aircraft or other automotive mechanical components. Graduation from a recognized trade /technical school is also acceptable.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE IN AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION. THE APPLICATION FEE OF APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

At the time of appointment, you must posses either a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) valid in the State of NY with a passenger endorsement and no restrictions OR A Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of NY and a Learner Permit for a Class B CDL.
