Company Overview

Marinvent Corporation is a privately held Ontario company, headquartered on the outskirts of Montreal, the leading aerospace center in Canada, and the fourth largest aerospace centre in the world.

Marinvent specializes in Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, and Flight Test Services, and holds numerous patents and copyrights on commercial products. Marinvent personnel have experience in a wide range of projects, including crew station evaluations for the International Space Station program, Space Shuttle flight dynamics, and the development of the telemetry system for the MIR space station.

The company operates two advanced airborne test-beds and a research flight simulator, which have been instrumental in the certification of navigation and safety systems for aircraft as diverse as the EC145 Eurocopter and the Boeing 747. The aircraft have also participated in approximately two hundred test missions under NASA’s Synthetic Vision System program. These assets embody unique come-as-you are flight test architectures, allowing the testing of varied systems with minimal ground time, and without requiring operations in the experimental category. Marinvent’s flight test activities and platforms have been the subject of a number of presentations and academic publications.

Marinvent also develops advanced technologies to a high state of maturity, which it then licenses to commercial OEMs in the appropriate field. This approach has historically placed the marketing and distribution responsibility onto its strategic partners and licensees, allowing Marinvent to concentrate its efforts solely on innovative engineering. Marinvent has provided software and services to all of the major avionics manufacturers in North America.

2006 Canadian Business Aviation Association: Award of Merit “…in recognition of an outstanding contribution to aviation” and 2006 Industry Support Safety Award “…for the safety gains achieved through human factors enhancement, systems engineering, and flight test services.”

2005 Trans-Canada (McKee) trophy presented to CEO “...for outstanding achievement in the field of air operations.” The McKee is Canada’s oldest aviation award; its charter states: “... the greatly coveted McKee Trophy is awarded to the Canadian whose achievements were most outstanding in promoting aviation in Canada.”

2005 Best Employer Award from the ETS College of Montreal, selected from a field of approximately 800 eligible companies.

2003 Canadian American Business Achievement Award with Jeppesen Sanderson Inc, for a joint enterprise demonstrating: strong business growth, remarkable innovation, noteworthy contributions to the local communities, and the capacity to provide the partners with a global advantage.
