Company Profile
navAero Inc.
Company Overview
Founded in 2003, navAero has been at the leading edge of EFB technology and has helped the Aviation industry define the standards and desired architecture for Electronic Flight Bag hardware.
With more than 30 years of experience in designing, manufacturing and commercializing application-specific computer systems, navAero is bringing to the aviation marketplace ruggedly built EFB systems that meet the needs of the commercial, business and military aviation industry in terms of design, functionality and affordability.
The navAero tBag EFB system is a small, compact, low-cost modular computer system that has been purposefully designed and built specifically for use in an airplane. The tBag™ is the first EFB product that took into account the need for hardware to be modular in design and flexible in structure that will allow for installation on virtually all flight decks…from transport and military aircraft to business aviation. This innovative design approach of the tBag™ system allows the computer to be remote mounted in locations that have been previously unused or that were thought to be unusable. And the thin, lightweight design of the tPad display panel allows it to be mounted on the window frame assembly – which keeps the positioning up high and in the normal scan area. And brightness controls directly on the display allow the pilot to adjust the screen illumination for optimal use in all lighting conditions – from bright sunlight to nighttime operations.
Because computer technology tends to evolve on a regular basis, consideration needs to be given as to the ability of the EFB to be “upgradeable” to meet future needs. The modular design of the navAero tBag CPU module allows this component to be treated as an LRU that can be simply and easily removed for upgrading as technology (and need) demands…all with no change in form/fit so there is no change in the installation structure and no impact to the certification/approvals.
The navAero EFB hardware technology has been designed and manufactured to meet the rigorous requirements for business, commercial and military aircraft installations, yet built with modular flexibility that allows it to be easily fitted into virtually any aircraft type – either fixed or rotary wing. All components meet or exceed certification requirements and applicable DO-160 levels.
These are just a few of the reasons as to why leading commercial airlines and business aircraft owners and operators are relying on navAero to provide them with an EFB hardware technology solution that will meet their needs today and into the future.
