Description
Med-Trans Corporation seeks a Helicopter Pilot to support Emergency Services air medical transport missions. In this role, you will safely operate IFR and VFR helicopter flights, ensuring rapid, reliable transport for critically ill and injured patients. You’ll work closely with medical crews and dispatch to plan and execute missions, manage weather and risk, and maintain strict FAA, company, and safety-first standards. Med-Trans offers a mission-driven, team-oriented culture with strong emphasis on training, professional growth, and clinical and operational excellence in a high-acuity environment.Safely operate company helicopters for emergency air medical transport under VFR and IFR conditions.
Conduct thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections and documentation.
Evaluate weather, terrain, and operational risks; make go/no-go decisions in line with safety policies.
Comply with all FAA, Part 135, and Med-Trans operational and safety procedures.
Coordinate closely with medical crews, dispatch, and ground EMS to ensure timely, efficient patient transport.
Maintain proficiency in aircraft systems, navigation, NVG, and emergency procedures through regular training.
Complete accurate flight logs, weight and balance, and required operational paperwork.
Participate in safety meetings, debriefs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support base operations, including readiness checks and occasional outreach or hospital/EMS liaison activities.
Demonstrate professional communication, teamwork, and patient-focused conduct on every mission.
Helicopter flight operations (VFR/IFR)
Instrument navigation and procedures
Night vision goggle (NVG) operations
Emergency/air medical (HAA/EMS) flight operations
Aeronautical decision-making and risk management
Weather assessment and flight planning
Helicopter systems and performance management
Crew Resource Management (CRM)
Radio communication with ATC and EMS partners
Regulatory compliance (FAA Part 135)

Instrument Helicopter Rating
Current Class II (or higher) FAA Medical Certificate
Minimum 2000 helicopter flight hours (PIC)

Part 135 or equivalent air medical/EMS experience preferred
Valid state driver’s license
No significant FAA enforcement actions
Emergency/air medical flight experience preferred
