Description
Med-Trans Corporation seeks a Helicopter Pilot to support Emergency Services air medical missions. This role operates IFR and VFR helicopter flights for critical care patient transport, ensuring strict adherence to FAA, Part 135, and company safety standards. The pilot conducts preflight planning, weather and risk assessments, and safe execution of all phases of flight while coordinating closely with medical crews, communications centers, and ground partners. The position requires strong judgment in dynamic environments, precise aircraft control, and continuous attention to safety, crew resource management, and mission readiness. Pilots at Med-Trans benefit from robust training, professional development, and a mission-driven, safety-first culture focused on clinical excellence and teamwork.Operate helicopter for emergency and interfacility medical transport missions under VFR/IFR conditions
Perform thorough preflight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections and documentation
Conduct weather, terrain, and risk assessments; exercise sound go/no-go decision-making
Ensure strict compliance with FAA regulations, Part 135 requirements, and company SOPs
Collaborate closely with flight nurses, paramedics, and communications staff to support patient care and mission efficiency
Maintain high standards of airmanship, situational awareness, and crew resource management (CRM)
Participate in recurrent training, check rides, and safety programs, including SMS and NVG operations as applicable
Communicate effectively with ATC, dispatch, hospitals, and EMS partners
Support base readiness, including aircraft cleanliness, basic ground handling, and hangar/helipad safety
Model Med-Trans’ safety-first, mission-driven culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
IFR and VFR helicopter flight operations
Rotor-wing aircraft systems and performance knowledge
Flight planning, navigation, and fuel management
Weather interpretation and aeronautical decision-making (ADM)
Crew resource management (CRM)
Night and NVG operations
Emergency procedures and abnormal operations management
Regulatory knowledge (FAA, Part 135, air medical/HAA)
Radio communication with ATC and EMS partners
Use of aviation avionics, GPS/FMS, and electronic flight bags (EFBs)

Part 135 air medical/EMS flight experience preferred
Advanced aviation safety training (SMS, CRM)
No accidents or incidents within recent safety review window
