Description
DescriptionThe Staff Interior Designer will prepare designs, edit specifications, and prepare conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial-related facilities. This position creates, designs and implements interior design and space planning strategies and initiatives to ensure fluidity through the completion of the project.
- Prepares designs, quantity calculations, designs, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for interiors of aviation and/or federal facilities.
- Responsible for compiling data, provide elementary design computations, assist with preparation of internal design plans and renderings.
- Responsible for furniture purchasing and reconfiguration.
- Researches interior design products and make recommendations.
- Researches, develops, and selects color, finish, and materials.
- Responsible for recommending new ideas, formulas and methods.
- Leads construction administration activities through site visits and review of schedules.
- Responsible for maintaining conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required or
- Master Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required
- Minimum four years of interior design experience preferred.
- Demonstrated progress towards achieving NCIDQ certification.
- Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of standard interior design concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Strong software and computer skills required, including BIM (Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Valid driver's license Required
This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
